ranging from a one-time consultation to a multi-year package.
This menu outlines the scope of each type of attorney-client relationship offered.

One-Time Consultation ($850)
This is a 2-hour meeting, during which you will have a discussion about medical cannabis law issues. No ongoing attorney-client relationship is established. Topics include: creating a sustainable medical cannabis operation, state law, federal law (including federal sentencing), federal law enforcement realities, cooperative incorporation law, federal income tax law, how to determine reasonable compensation and zoning.

This engagement begins with the above 2-hour meeting.
Additionally, we will prepare your Articles of Incorporation and file them for you with the Secretary of State. We will then prepare other corporate compliance documents for you to help you on your way. These documents include: Bylaws, Waiver of Notice and Consent to Holding of the First Board of Directors Meeting, Minutes of the First Board of Directors Meeting, member Rules and Policies, notice of the first membership meeting and a Membership Disclosure Document.
Our attorneys and staff will be available to answer questions specifically relating to your incorporation process or about any of the documents that we have prepared for you, but this is not an open-ended engagement. Our representation is limited to the incorporation and corporate compliance work only. |

One-Year Representation ($20,000 – pre-paid, non-refundable)
This engagement includes all of the above services. Additionally, you have retained us for one year to counsel you on corporate compliance, to draft and review additional documents, to lobby, to assist with landlord-tenant issues, to consult about tax issues, and to provide general business advice.
In short, you have access to our time and our expertise for a full year.
N.B. this does not include appearances at hearings or litigation of any kind. |
Two-Year Representation ($30,000 – payment schedule permitted)
This engagement includes all of the above services. Additionally, you have retained us for two full years to counsel you on corporate compliance, to draft and review additional documents, to lobby, to assist with landlord-tenant issues, to consult about tax issues, and to provide general business advice.
In short, you have our availability, our time and our expertise during the crucial first years of your cooperative’s operation.

($40,000 – payment schedule permitted)
This engagement includes all of the above services. Additionally, you have retained us for three years to counsel you on corporate compliance, to draft and review additional documents, to lobby, to assist with landlord-tenant issues, to consult about tax issues, and to provide general business advice.

Note: if you upgrade your level of representation from one tier to a higher tier, the amount you have already paid will offset the fee for the new tier. E.G. if you convert from ‘Incorporation Package’ to ‘One-Year Representation’, you will only pay an additional $14,415, such that the total is $20,000.
